I have two iMac G3 mac osx is running Panther that have700mhz-1GB RAM DVD ROM not need an update OSX?
Hi I need to upgrade to Leopard I realize that it runs well. I have DVD-ROM. I tried to use an external USB DVD ROM, however, the iMac can not boot from this. Is there anything I can do to my iMac boot from a USB DVD ROM Drive? I also tried to see if I could connect a PC DVD ROM on the logic board of the iMac to Mac OS 10.5 Wile intact was open, fitings cable but are different. Is there a cable that could. What we really need is a DVD drive slot load, but I can not find one anywhere. Ha anyone got a DVD drive for slot-loading iMac G3? Does anyone have any idears please, please get back to me. Sorry, you're wrong – will not run in the G3 – and the minimum requirements as stated by Apple is: 867 MHz G4. The installation program does not really run in that system. That said there are solutions – but requires the installation of Leopard on a new iMac G4 … then pulling the hard drive out and pasting on the iMac G3. With everything – not really worth it – especially considering how cheep used a G4 iMac (or even higher) are going for these days.
