Is it compulsory to do dissections in Biology?
Three laboratory science courses in my state are required to graduate, so it's not that I wanted this class. In a few weeks are going to do the fetal pig dissection – something I am firmly against ethics. They can not force me to do, right? I mind to write an essay of twenty pages on the subject, but I refuse to participate effectively in this cruel practice. I would almost understand if the class was eight students who were truly dedicated to science, but most children will not use this information later in life and laugh at the creature he could not of living. Help?
Everything depends on what you `re in specializing If biology is important you should probably analyze it. I skipped the dissection of fetal pig in high school biology, but I'm taking a biology class this semester in college and I have to dissect one again. I'll do just to look all organs. Not to mock or laugh at the animals. I mean, it `s dead. I know some will feel strong about the abuse of animals and dissection animals, but `s part of their education.
