"I can use a Windows XP Media Center 2005 under license from XP Home CD?
I have a Hard Drive I have to replace. The trouble is my recovery CD will not work unless I reinstalled the original hard disk, since the needs of the recovery partition. All I have is an XP Home OEM CD and license that accompanies already in use on another computer I can use it in another PC. I wondered if I could use my Media Center OEM license on the COA to install Windows XP Home Edition? Thanks
No. Microsoft avoid b / c of things like this. Source You can get a perfectly good open source software for free. If all else fails, save yourself the dough and try one: Fedora: http://fedoraproject.org/ Ubuntu: http://www.ubuntu.com/ There is also a free Office Suite: Open Office: http://www.openoffice.org/ Good luck!
