new camera (manual)-light meters NEED HELP?
ok so I took a camera with manual Minolta back strap for Nice Leather, flash, lens and a large garage sale for my photo class, the question is, when you use the light meter says 'M' on top (in red), then there is a red mark on the shutter speed using instant messaging and under a red flag at the opening of mesh im using. (The meter is on the side so you can see what im aperature and shutter speed in viewfinder). Everything is red and I can not even say more than anyhting. M 'Anyone know what means "M"? or is the Camera Only boken PS no manual comes with it. It's a Minolta X-370
Your camera Minolta has a nice number Model … We know what it is and can help better. The camera may need a new battery for the light meter to work. The "M" may be saying that the battery is dead. It uses a mercury battery, which was banned many years ago, so it will have to find a replacement. Until then you can use the "sunny 16" rule … 1/ISO of the film you are using to f/16 in bright sunshine.
